We take this seriously. Here's exactly what we collect, why, and what we never do.
What Book Me Therapy is
Book Me Therapy is a therapy referral and matching service — not a healthcare provider, therapist, or clinical tool. We connect clients with licensed therapists. We do not deliver therapy, store clinical records, or transmit protected health information in a clinical sense.
This distinction matters for how privacy regulations apply. We are not a HIPAA covered entity. However, we take the privacy of everything you share with us very seriously — and we treat all health-related information with the care it deserves.
What we collect
- Account information: Name, email address, and password when you create an account.
- Quiz responses: The text you write in the matching quiz — used solely to generate your therapist matches.
- Booking information: Name, email, preferred timing, and any notes you include when you send a booking request.
- Therapist profile data: All information therapists submit during onboarding — credentials, bio, focus areas, and verification documents.
- Usage data: Pages visited, actions taken, and device type — used to improve the platform experience.
How we use it
- To match clients with the right therapists using our AI system
- To deliver booking requests to therapists and notifications to clients
- To verify therapist credentials before their profile goes live
- To improve the platform, fix bugs, and understand how people use it
- To send transactional emails (booking confirmations, reply notifications)
What we never do
- We never sell your data to third parties — ever.
- We never share your information with advertisers.
- We never store payment card details — all payments are processed by Stripe.
- We never use your quiz responses for any purpose other than generating your matches.
Data retention
Quiz free-text responses are deleted 90 days after a match is made or after 90 days of account inactivity — whichever comes first. Booking records are retained for 2 years. Account data is retained until you request deletion.
Your rights
You may request a copy of your data, correction of inaccurate information, or deletion of your account at any time by emailing privacy@bookmetherapy.com. We will respond within 10 business days.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember your session. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
Changes to this policy
We will notify active users by email if we make material changes to this policy. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
